Sally and her mom were both diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the same time, and while going through treatment, her dad looked after them both. For those who know what it is like having a loved one going through Chemo, you will understand how much of a strain it put on Mr Roberts, but he loved his ladies so much he sacrificed a lot to help them. It was also during this time that Sally met Noel, the love of her life, and he also helped these beautiful women deal with the many treatments and Doctors appointments they needed to go to. Sadly Sally passed away late last year, but before she did she embraced life. She traveled, did things she had always wanted to do and really loved every minute. This post may seem sad, but to me its not. Its a loving memory of a beautiful lady who touched my life in a big way in the short time that I knew her. Its a celebration of her life, and her beautiful family who I admire, respect and love a lot. Here is a peak at a few of the fun photos we did of this amazing family ... In loving memory of Sally Roberts, a beautiful woman in every way, your story touched many lives in such a good way. Gone but not forgotten. Love

BL Medical is a company that works closely with Buddies for Life and the Breast Health Foundation assisting pre and post-op patients with prosthetic bra inserts, and strapping to help with the healing process. Its through the team at Buddies for Life that I met the BL Medical Team and they needed a few photographs of their TUANSE range of wrist, knee and ankle braces. As these products are usually used for sports injuries and help athletes resume sports, we decided to use a lovely young Netball player as our model. Designed with high quality elastic, this range is not only very supportive of injury, but flexible too, and we had loads of fun on the netball courts showing off the strapping. This was certainly a very different type of product shoot for me, but it was really fun working with the team. Here is a peak at a few of our images from their shoot. Zelna and Hennie are such a special couple to me ... full of life and fun, it was a wonderful experience working with them! They are so much in love, and it comes through so strongly on camera. Their wedding was set to be a very relaxed and vintage affair, and as they love South Africa and all its history we decided the best setting for their engagement shoot was Reefsteamers. This is one place that I love to work at, there are so many awesome places to photograph, and we walked around admiring the hard work that goes into the restoration of the beautiful old ladies. As Hennie is also an avid photographer, he took great pleasure in comparing his Canon to my Nikon, and the afternoon was filled with loads of laughs and jokes. Adding to his delight, I pulled out my vintage Canon Film Camera and the two had a few funny selfie moments, and pretended that they were doing their own photoshoot. This memorable afternoon ended with a spectacular Johannesburg sunset, and then we sat with the Reefsteamers team and waited for Susan, the oldest steam train in the yard to return from her Cullinan trip. Thank you to the Reefsteamers team who allowed us to use the facility and for being so amazing with your historical knowledge. Thank you also to Makeup by Shandre for Zelna's stunning makeup, and lastly to my tireless assistant Michael for all of the help on the day. Hennie and Zelna you are both fabulous, and I really wish you all of the happiness in the world as you deserve it. May your love grow and continue to blossom for many years to come! Here is a peak at Zelna and Hennies fun e-shoot: Love
Chantal xxx The gorgeous Leigh Ann was the second lady who modeled the fabulous Kiniconfidence range for us. This beauty looks so amazing in the bespoke range of bikinis created by this talented team of ladies. Her stunning figure and elegant look worked perfectly with the custom range of swimwear. If you are wondering who Kiniconfidence are, well they are a family run business, started by my good friend and Makeup Artist, Shandre, her mom Ann and sister Angelique. Together they have created the most amazing and beautiful range of bespoke swimwear, each piece is unique. From the hand beading to the vibrant colours and mix and match options, you are sure to find the most amazing beach wear to suit your personal style. Kiniconfidence have also expanded their range, offering bath and body lotion products (which I use) as well as accessories like body chains that are to die for! Later this year they will also be releasing their own lip product range, so this is a definite must visit company for all ladies! I have to say a huge thank you to the stunning team at Kiniconfidence for asking me to work with them. To Leigh Ann, you are beautiful in every way and I would love to work with you again! Love
Chantal xxx Kiniconfidence is a family owned business, and is run by the most awesome group of ladies. Shandre, who works with me at femme fatale boudoir as one of my makeup artists, created this bespoke and beautiful line of beach wear with her mom and sister. A while ago they asked if I could photograph a few of their pieces in their range for them. Of course I jumped at the chance to help them, as this range is just gorgeous. What I love about their bikini's, is that each piece is unique. They hand make each one and add details like beading which makes them stand out from the rest. The other thing I love, is how you can mix and match throughout their catalog to create a look perfect for you. From high waisted, to tanga and boy legs, there is a huge range of different bottoms to suit your needs. I also fell in love with their sarongs and wraps and was delighted when they gave me one to say thank you for the awesome day we had shooting. Angelique, our stunning model, is Shandre's sister and part of the design team, and she opted to be in front of the camera to show off the gorgeous outfits. Shandre did her beautiful hair and makeup, while Ann (their mom) did the wardrobe styling and assisted with the shoot. The camera just loves Angelique, and shes wonderful to work with. Not only is she beautiful, but she is a lovely young lady who I would love to work with again! I would like to thank the ladies at Kiniconfidence for giving me the opportunity to work with them. Their range is amazing, so if you are looking for something unique, they are a definite must visit! Love
Chantal xxx I met Shelley at a photography course at few years ago, and since then we have become great friends, and recently business partners when we launched femme fatale boudoir. But it came as a big surprise, when she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, alongside Candice, Chantelle and Ashleigh, for her wedding earlier this year at the beautiful Sante Hotel and Spa in Paarl. I have always seen the role of a bridesmaid as very special, and believe that it is a huge honour being asked to be one. Its not just about wearing a pretty dress and having makeup done, it includes things like organising the bachelorette party, the kitchen tea, sorting out issues and lastly to support the bride when needed. Being Shelley's bridesmaid was an awesome experience, as she has the biggest heart, is super organised and everyone loves spending time with her. Shelley is anything but ordinary, its why we all love her so much! She insisted on organising her own Kitchen Tea, which was a beautiful afternoon spent with a lovely group of ladies. There was a fabulous spread of yummy delights made by the team at Petit Fours in Northcliff. Shelley, thoughtful as ever, made sure we each got a beautiful gift from Yuppie Chef as a momento of the day, and true to her form, she had the camera out and was taking photos of the food before anyone was allowed to touch anything! I also couldnt resist taking my camera along, and here are a few photo's from the day. Love Chantal XXX The best weekend of the year, at least for photographers that is, is almost upon us! Many photographers and enthusiasts, including myself, block this weekend off to attend the fabulous Photo & Film expo at the dome. Running from the 30th of October, to the 2nd of November, this is an event not to be missed. From new products and great specials, to workshops that cover almost every genre of photography there is something for everyone. This year though, it is even more exciting for me .... I was asked to present a talk and live demo on boudoir photography for femme fatale boudoir. I will be discussing basic posing and using continous lighting to create soft sensual and elegant boudoir images. So should you want to learn a bit about boudoir photography, pick up some tips or just see what its all about, come and visit me on the Fotacs stage. I will be talking once every day, each with a slightly different theme and look. Here is the dates and times I will be doing the demos, so put them in your diary!
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Love Chantal XXX When Grazyna, who I had worked with before, contacted me about doing a fun shoot for the extended family I was very excited. She had decided to give the entire family the gift of this shoot, and what a gift it was! It was an incredibly fun afternoon with this tightly knit group of people. We met at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, and I was given strict instructions .... NO waterfall pics! I do love the waterfall, but they have so many of it already, and wanted something a little different. The gardens have so much to offer so we were not limited by this request, and found a lovely area with beautful light and loads of space for this crazy bunch. What I loved most about photographing this family, is they are so comfortable with each other, there are so many fun images mixed up in the slightly more formal. It was a totally fabulous afternoon, from the piggy backs, to the funny faces, I am not sure I have laughed so much at a family shoot before! Here is a peak at our fun afternoon, love you guys and cant wait to see you again! Love Chantal XXX The Holy Rosary School held its Matric Farewell earlier this year, and as they are always slightly different, all the ladies had to wear white gowns. I was asked to photograph a group of eleven friends, their partners and families at one of the ladies beautiful homes, just before they were whisked off in a bus to the main event. The families watched their daughters proudly as we did the photographs. The ladies all looked incredibly beautiful. Each perfectly made up in a spectacular gown with to die for heels, and the young men looked dashing in their suits. I would like to wish all of the ladies the best for the upcoming Matric Finals, you are all fabulous and I know you all have a bright future ahead of you. Love Chantal XXX As the morning of Morongoa and Basil's wedding dawned, it was destined to be a day filled with excitement, emotion and incredible beauty. The amount of planning and detail that they had incorporated into their big day resulted in the most beautiful day with so many intricate details. When we arrived at Oakfield Farm, we were greated by a very emotional Morongoa, it was finally here, the day she would say I do to the love of her life! While bridal retinue was hard at work getting themselves looking glamorous, we went off to the photograph the incredibly beautiful reception decor in Homestead. The team at Oakfield Farm and Cafe Fleur had been hard at work, as not a thing was out of place. The whites, pinks and silver colours gave the reception a very elegant and stylish feel, which reflects the couple so perfectly. As the morning slipped away, and it was almost time for the ceremony, the men decided to have a whisky to steady the nerves. They looked very dashing in their grey suits, and had an awesome time doing some photographs with Diana who was my second photographer for the day. The ceremony started with Tiro singing Ave Maria, and Basil was visibly nervous and a little emotional. The nerves all vanished as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle towards him, and was replaced biggest smile I have ever seen. After a lovely ceremony, Morongoa and Basil suddenly looked very content and relaxed. Although we had run a little late, and had a short time for the formal couple shoot, we got some lovely images of the couple, before it was reception time. The reception was a huge party, starting with the bridal party entering while doing the harlem shuffle. Delicious food, some emotional speeches and loads of dancing and laughter completed this amazing day. Thank you to all of the amazing suppliers (listed below) who really worked hard to make this day perfect for Morongoa and Basil. A huge thank you also goes to Diana, who was amazing to work with. Its awesome to have you as part of my team, and look forward to working with you again! Lastly, to Mo and Basil, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this amazing day, it was a honour working with you both. I am blessed to have you in my life, no longer as clients, but as friends. I wish you the all of the best, and may your love continue to grow stronger as the years pass. Love Chantal XXX Thank you to all of the amazing suppliers:
